About Arundo5!
Arundo5 brings together five versatile, passionate and innovative UK woodwind players to celebrate the chamber music of a unique line-up, the reed quintet.
Featuring only instruments that use reeds, Arundo5 explores the distinctive colour palette of this ensemble, extending the tonal possibilities with the influence of orchestral, theatre, chamber, jazz and popular music.
Formed by oboist Manon Lewis, clarinettist Stuart Eminson, saxophonist Toby Kelly, bass clarinettist Jessica Tomlinson and bassoonist Howard Dann, Arundo5 draws on a remarkable breadth of experience. Collectively, the members have performed with leading orchestras across the UK and internationally, appeared in major West End and touring productions, and collaborated with artists spanning classical, pop and contemporary genres. Their careers have taken them from symphony halls and opera houses to recording studios, festival stages and broadcasts on national radio and television.
Arundo5 champions their own arrangements for reed quintet alongside performing established pieces and extending the repertoire with new commissions. The ensemble is committed to imaginative programming and vibrant performance, creating concerts that introduce audiences to the wide styles, timbres and nuances of reed instruments.
